Nature's Dirty Needle
"My main focus has been Chronic Lyme disease and the many co-infections that surround it. It was a stunning moment when I realized my own daughter was very sick and had been for awhile. What our family has endured when it becomes necessary to interact with the current health care system is a horror story. It is this experience that compelled me to write Nature's Dirty Needle. Her story and the others in this book must be told. Hopefully this will lead to greater awareness of this worldwide issue."
Mara Williams is the Author of Nature's Dirty Needle, a primer book on Chronic Lyme disease, the different co-infections, what the symptoms are, how to recognize them, and how best to get help. This helpful information is intertwined with personal stories told by those who have lived and dealt with these infections.
Nature's Dirty Needle has been well received among the Lyme community. Chronic Lyme disease patients, as well as their families and friends, have voiced their appreciation and gratitude for the message of hope it brings. Mara is currently planning a second book, filled with updates and new personal stories. She believes that if more people tell their tale, they will no longer be denied proper treatment.
